The EM Audio NEO 8 is a hand-built 2,000W RMS subwoofer driven by 12 N52H neodymium blocks and a 2.5″ American-made 4-layer aluminum coil, one of the strongest motors on the market for an 8″.

The NEO 8 is what happens when you give an 8″ a motor with no compromises. Twelve N52H neodymium blocks make one of the strongest 8″ motors on the market, and a 2.5″ 4-layer aluminum flat-wound American-made coil lets it run a tested 2,000W RMS and 7,000W on burps. The whole driver weighs 39 lbs, so you get Team-line motor force in a package that fits where big subs cannot.

Highlights

2,000W RMS tested; 7,000W on burps

12 N52H neodymium blocks

2.5″ 4-layer aluminum flat-wound American-made coil; dual 1, dual 2 or dual 4 ohm when available (message us first to check)

Double-layer 6.5″ × 2.5″ linear red spider pack

Pressed pulp cone with a big roll red-stitched or tall roll surround

3.5″ black poly dust cap with 2-tone EM Audio logo

0.5″ basket-to-motor spacer sleeves and 8 ga. push terminals

6-spoke aluminum basket, powder coated standard gray

Specs

Mounting depth: 8.75″

Motor width: 7.25″

Cutout diameter: 7.325″

Outside diameter: 8.75″

Total weight: 39 lbs

Recommended enclosure

Sealed: 0.75 cu ft. Ported: 1.0 cu ft, tuned to 36 Hz. 4th and 6th order friendly. These sizes are for rated power. If you compete or run over rated power, work with your box designer, or run the numbers in our box calculator.

Every EM Audio subwoofer is hand built to order in North Carolina. Custom orders take a minimum of 15 business days to build and are final sale. Custom powder-coat frame and dustcap colors, a stiffer spider pack, direct 8 ga. OFC leads and custom dustcap logo text are available as options above. Real carbon fiber dust caps are in Dust Caps. Recone kits are available for every model we make, so a blown sub is a rebuild, not a replacement.

Measured in free air on a Dayton Audio DATS with the coils wired as tested (see Re). Treat these as a starting point: every sub is hand built, and upgrades change the numbers. A stiffer spider pack raises Fs, and carbon fiber upgrades lighten the moving assembly, which also raises Fs and lowers Qts. Run them through our box calculator, or ask us for numbers on your exact build. Measured on an all-black NEO 8 after break-in.

Measured in free air on a Dayton Audio DATS with the coils wired as tested (see Re). Treat these as a starting point: every sub is hand built, and upgrades change the numbers.
